Originally built in 1832 as a private residence by a Virginia General, the Martha Washington Inn evolved into a young ladies' finishing school. During the Civil War, it served as a hospital and romantic legends from that era persist today. It later became a women's college and today is a warm and gracious hotel. Southern traditions of genteel hospitality and a loving preservation of the original architecture set the stage for a relaxing yet dignified stay in the southwestern highlands of Virginia.

Nestled in the Blue Ridge Highlands of Southwest Virginia, Camberley's Martha Washington Inn is conveniently located in an historic neighborhood, complete with brick walks and turn of the century homes. Antique filled guest and public rooms, fine and casual dining and intimate meeting and spacious ballroom facilities all make the Martha Washington a favorite hotel for both business and leisure travelers.
